Exams, study and calisthenics

YAY! Yes that's right I am now allowed on the internet again! You can all sigh with relief. My online rants that no-one reads are back! Woo hoo!

My first exam for math is next Monday (ONE WEEK GAH!) and, not surprising, my calisthenics coach wants me to fail! Yup it's true. I was in Ballarat on last Monday and Tuesday for calisthenics, and I was forced to make rushed journeys to and from so as to not miss any year 12 subjects. I could deal with this, I didn't miss anything but a little valuable study time.

Then I find out that the concert is this SUNDAY (the day before my first exam). Now this is horrible. How am I supposed to cram?? Study?? I consoled myself with the thought that I would be able to do this cramming the day before. BUT NOOOOOOOOO. They pull a practice the day before. I'm not going to go. Just like the dress rehersal yesterday. Sort of didn't go to that either. If they get angry, I don't care haha. School beats calisthenics any day.

On a different note is it possible to go to any parties any more without ex boyfriends trying to get you drunk??? "Have your last drink Jess" "No I've had enough" "Awww but you're funny when your drunk" Pfffffffft

Bye bye!!! (cough*birdie!*cough)
hehe catchyas luv Jess

Baaack to Schoool

Today was the first day back at school. Getting ready for school at 6 am was a an experience I haven't experienced in nearly a month, so it was refreshing/tiring. Went to school, and was surprised somewhat with what the day held.

I got my dreaded practice exam back, which was a bit of a mixed reaction. I managed to get 75% overall, equal marks for both texts. Then we read out bits of our answers to the class...god i felt dumb. There was Paul using 'persona this' and 'quote that' then Simon with 'Lietchtenstein once write that...Harwodd was a great believer in his writings ....' and Geoff who was, though unbelievably pompous, perfect in every way. I wish I could write like that about things I don't care about. Apparently mine was 'flat'.

It was also surprising to see how much people remember. At the beginning of the holidays a certain person told me something about themselves in a bid to anger me. The details are quite explicit, and made the person out to be a dirty pedophile, and the person he committed the acts with a child of lesser calibre (slut). In my horror and disgust, I divulged this information to a friend of mine. I later found out that the acts did not occur, and was laughed at/abused in an inappropriate manner.
However, I forgot to tell my friend that it was not true. Got to back to school today, he had told EVERYONE. I had people coming up to me all day asking me if I knew and trying to be sympathetic (because I used to be involved with him). Now they all think he IS a dirty pedophile. Not untrue, but still, karma works its ways sometimes, maybe I should not have been abused?

Ms McChesney made a very disappointing error in her inevitable farewell to the school today, levaing many students in shock and horror. Her predictable poem was tainted, unworthy of such an audience, and some junior students were seen to be crying, not used to the change.
It should go as follows
"May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be at your back
The sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly upon your fields
And until we meet again
May your God hold you in the plam of his hand"

This is the offending speech
"May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be at your back
The sun shine warm upon your fields
And the rain also fall softly upon your fields
And until we meet again
May your God hold you in the plam of his hand"

What about my face??? Why is the sun warm upon my fields? It would be better on my pale winter face! How come my fields get the sun and rain? And her botched attempt to make it look like it was meant to be that way - we saw right through it! Many of the students reciting the poem discreetly with her were thrown off, and could not get bac on trac for their horror.

I plan to write to her, explaining the ACTUAL wording of the poem.

I think this is a long post, but oh well deal with it.

PS> TODAY SHOW TOMORROW.... (don't watch it I have decided being on T.V isn't so great when you are doing CPR :S )

The Evils of Drink

Ha ha well yes I didn't post yesterday because I actually ended up going out and finding something interesting to do...the consequences of which were disastrous.

So yesterday my friend Jarryd asks if I want to go to this party after my shift at work, I say sure why not. My parents buy me a 6 pack of udls, and being the good child I am, I only take 4. I have had four before, I can handle four. Or so I thought.

I get to the party right, and Jarryd isn't drinking because he had to drive. The party is, well so to speak very quiet. There goes my first drink. Now usually I alternate between drinks and softdrinks. I don't now what they were thining when they didn't provide soft drin at the party. It ruined me haha.

Four drinks later I'm having a great time, Mum picks me up and I go home. I have sum water, then I crash. 5 am I get up ready for work. Something is definitely not right. You see, I noticed when I got out of the shower and collapsed. Got dressed, and collapsed again. Passed out cold. Not best feeling. I made myself eat, and dragged myself to work. I spent the first half of my five hour shift with my head in a toilet.

Now, this would have gone unnoticed, except for my manager noticing when she had to make the foccaccias because everytime I went near them I felt nauseous. She was sympathetic, but unfortunately she had to write up and offical report. I had to have 'employee counselling' to determine my reasoning behind it. It goes on my official previously perfect employee record.
*cringes*

So a lesson I have learnt from this:
  1. Always be careful about how much I drink
  2. Never drink excessively when you have to get up at 5 am and wor

Till next time folks,

Jess

Practice exams, knox and work :P

Continuing on the with the theme of 'writing in a blog' I'm pretty much going to explain today a little.

Being the last day of the holidays (officially) it was interesting to note I spent it at school. We had a literature exam, much to everyone's disgust. So we get in there, and I'm writing away, and Mrs Chessell announces halfway through a reminder that no mobile phones are allowed into the actual exam, even if they are off. WELL this started Vicky and I off, we spent the next 5 minutes cracking up about that scene from Stick It, when they are talking to each other on pretend phones across the room. Put down the phone! It ended with me having to go get a drink to calm down. Next we heard some kids from after school care outside, and one of them yelled really loudly "I just ran into a pole!" Well I was laughing any way, everyone else thought I was distracting.

It also reminded me that maybe I should try studying for some of my subjects. I knew so little about anything. The only thing that I could say about Gwen Harwood's writing is that she says it's not autobiographical... BUT IT IS. cough cough fail cough.

After my exam in which I disturbed the entire class without meaning to, I went to Knox with Vicky and Adam, because Vicky wanted to meet up with some random she met on myspace. As you do of course pfft who wouldn't meet up with strangers from the Internet? haha he turned out to be alright, so we all hung out for a little while. hen I had to take a bus back to work, Maccas wooooo.

Work was a decidedly boring shift. For some reason not alot of people want coffee on a Friday night, and you can't exactly close the cafe before the cafe close girl starts. So I did alot of cleaning I hope she damn well appreciates it I could see my reflection in that damn toaster!

And now I'm home on a Friday night. It really is depressing I get the feeling everyone has gone out without inviting me, I'm so paranoid ha ha. Yes, I probably should go do some homework, considering there has been a lack thereof.

ALSO before I forget everybody has to watch the Today show on channel 9 on Tuesday at around the 8 o'clock weather report coz me and some people from school are going to be on T.V! It's St John's week or something and we shall be demonstarting CPR on dummys. Pretty exciting haha national T.V! I"m going to be a star! Joking joking. Have a good one guys!

My first post on the darned thing

Why hello everyone! Welcome to my first post on this blog thingy. The main reason I have begun this thing is because my old english teacher told me should write something every day, good ol' Mr Carroll. Funnily enough, I haven't, due to the large amounts of time I spend on the computer. After reading Dale's blog on this thing, it suddenly occured to me...blogging is like writing and it would help me with my expression and stuff (see that 'and stuff' that why I need to do this). So here it is my blog.

Now some people may wonder how I came up with the name shiny jess of the poetic skill...well the thing is I didn't. I'd lie to than a nifty lil site called www.bandnamemaker.com, or that's what I think it is. I just typed in my name and viola! it came up with a list of possible band names. Of course it is not limited to band names, as I have quite clearly shown here.

Just a note to all those who may scrutinise my writing intensely for spelling mistakes and typos etc.... my eyboard was most likely the keyboard for the first computer ever it is so old. It has a bobby pin jammed under the enter and shift so it is temperamental and the k is jammed...so sometimes it doesn't wor either. so i hope that explains some weird typos like eyboard and wor...

For all those who know me, you would be aware that school is starting back in 3 days! 3 whole days! Friday, Saturday, Sunday, SCHOOL DAY! Gah! The VCE exams loom closer. I'm starting to regret doing two year 12 subjects in year 11. See year 12's at the end of it they get schoolies, and no more high school ever. Us year 11's are rewarded with...the beginning of year 11 exams, then another year of school. It's like a slap in the face.

I'm not sure how long this is gonna look on the blog page or even what it will look like, but please don't judge me I will get better!

until next time,
jess
